We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurse or Clinical Nurse Educator with extensive forensic mental health nursing experience to join our team.
The successful candidate will provide clinical education, training, and professional development to staff, while also fulfilling a strong mentoring and leadership role. This position requires advanced skills in adult education, including the ability to design, deliver, and evaluate high-quality clinical education. A high level of expertise in mental health practice, trauma‑informed and recovery‑oriented care, and de‑escalation strategies is essential. Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills are required to influence practice change, support workforce capability, and contribute to quality improvement. The role is suited to a senior registered nurse or clinical nurse educator committed to delivering high‑quality, recovery‑oriented care within a dynamic and complex mental health environment.

What you'll be doing
As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, delivering and evaluating education programs that strengthen clinical capability and improve patient care across Mental Health Services.
* Deliver evidence‑based clinical education in collaboration with Nurse Managers and Clinical Nurse Consultants.
* Support and mentor nursing staff to achieve and maintain clinical competencies.
* Facilitate teaching and learning at the bedside using advanced clinical expertise.
* Lead unit‑based orientation, induction, mandatory training and professional development programmes.
* Promote innovation and continuous improvement through quality education and research initiatives.

Registration: Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria:
* Demonstrated extensive clinical experience and/or post registration qualification in the relevant speciality and nursing professional development/education.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change within the context of best practice clinical care and workplace culture.
* Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care.
* Demonstrated effective and high‑level communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills in addition to proven ability to motivate and engage people in the clinical setting.
* Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous improvement whilst ensuring currency of practice in the relevant specialty.
* Demonstrated ability and commitment to collaborative and integrated multidisciplinary teamwork, aimed at building and strengthening partnerships with consumers and key stakeholders to provide best practice service delivery.
* Strong commitment to the on‑going development/enhancement of nursing practice within a patient‑centred, multi‑disciplinary clinical environment.
* Relevant computer skills including database programmes and data entry.
