This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 4, 2025.
Yanchep Lagoon Primary School (PS) have experienced and expert staff, many of whom live within the Yanchep community and surrounding areas. All staff work diligently to provide an exceptional, well-rounded education for all students. We offer a broad curriculum which includes specialists in Science, Indonesian, Physical Education and Music. We also have a literacy coordinator, learning support and mental health and well-being coordinator as well as a school Chaplain.
Our staff give generously of their time offering after school sports programs, an Environmental Club, Breakfast Club and a before school Reading School Program. Student well-being is a high priority. We run the Smiling Minds program and, as a Positive Behaviour School, we seek to acknowledge the positive behaviours that students demonstrate each day.
Over the past seven years our school has gone through a transformation with many new, modern buildings and facilities. We have retained many of our beautiful large trees which give a great ambience to the school. A magnificent new aviary has been built as part of the rejuvenation, housing many birds which have been an integral part of our school for many years.
The Role
The Cleaner in Charge will take pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness ensuring school facilities are cleaned and maintained in accordance with Department procedure to provide a visually pleasing and safe learning environment for our students, staff, and visitors to the school. They will organise and order stock and equipment as well as manage hazardous materials and the Material Safety Data Sheet.
The Cleaner in Charge is responsible for organising and supervising the school cleaning staff including the relief for staff on leave, rosters and highlighting issues and concerns on behalf of cleaners, they will manage cleaners time books and organise on the job training of new and current cleaning staff. They will work as a team with school staff including the gardener and manage staff performance in consultation with the Manager Corporate Services.
The successful applicant will have strong interpersonal and team motivational skills and be happy to receive and carry out instructions as required. As Cleaner in Charge you will be well organised and have good record keeping skills.
