This is a permanent full‐time position based at RAAF Darwin, Northern Territory. It is a long‐standing company that has been servicing critical infrastructure for over 20 years, with the security of long‐term employment. The contract is a minimum 6‐year term, and brand new tools and vehicles are provided.
About the Role
You will provide operational maintenance, repairs and services to the air conditioning systems, controlled temperature environments, and refrigeration systems installed throughout all Defence buildings, structures, and infrastructure. The role ensures optimal functionality and operational efficiency of these systems to support Defence operations and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct regular preventative maintenance of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, and controlled temperature environments.
* Diagnose and repair faults in HVAC systems to maintain optimal performance and prevent system failures.
* Install new HVAC systems and components as required, ensuring compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
* Monitor and adjust system controls to ensure efficient operation and compliance with designated temperature settings.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including details of parts used and work performed.
* Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimise downtime and disruption to operations.
* Collaborate with other maintenance and engineering teams to resolve complex issues and optimise system performance.
* Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
* Current Australian Refrigeration Mechanic Trade qualification.
* Demonstrated experience with chilled water systems and all components including chillers, air handling units, and BMS control systems.
* Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment.
* ArcTick Refrigerant Handling Licence.
* Restricted or Open Electrical Licence.
* Valid driver's licence.
* Australian citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
