Casual Master V – Kingfisher Bay Resort, Gladstone, QLD
A leading tourism company, SeaLink Gladstone, seeks a Master with strong leadership and proven safety and ship‐handling skills to operate vessels for our Oil and Gas clients in Gladstone.
About The Role
The Master will be responsible for the daily efficient operation of the vessel while maintaining excellence in safety, reliability, and staff/customer service. Key duties include:
* Safe and efficient operation and navigation of Company vessels.
* Leadership of the crew, promoting adherence to the Safety Management System.
* Ensuring compliance with all local and international laws, company policies, and SMS.
* Conducting safety drills, training, and pre‐start meetings.
* Reporting defects, non‐conformities, and environmental incidents to Operations Management.
* Maintaining vessel crew certificates, stability calculations, and documentation.
* Ensuring passenger comfort and satisfaction.
Qualifications
* Master 5 Certificate of Competency – Essential
* MED 3 or higher – Essential
* Gladstone Local Knowledge – Essential
* Senior First Aid and CPR – Essential
* Marine Radio Operator – Essential
* Driver's licence – Essential
* Confined Space training – Essential
* Working safely at heights – Essential
* Leadership and people‐management experience
* Strong communication, organisational and planning skills
* Autonomous decision‐making and delegation
* Flexibility, reliability, and customer‐service orientation
* Experience in the transport industry – desirable
Additional Requirements
Availability for immediate start, working outside normal hours, possibility of deckhand duties, and ability to work with Operations Management and Scheduler.
