Salary: Level 2/3, $36.87 - $41.37 per hour (EA (Gov) GA 2025)

We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant – Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

As an Education Assistant – Special Needs you will support the delivery of planned educational programs, working under teacher direction to help individual students and small groups. You will ideally contribute to a collaborative and inclusive classroom environment, supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development.

Experience working with students who present with learning and behavioural challenges, mental health and medical needs, or limited English literacy, English as Additional Language (EALD) is highly desirable. Training and experience in implementing Direct Instruction programs will also be well regarded.

We are seeking applicants who are ideally:

* Organised and effective team players, with strong collaboration skills
* Committed to building positive relationships with students, staff, families, and the wider community

Demonstrated experience and skills for the role include:

* Education assistant – Special Needs role experience supporting students with complex learning and support needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with students with special needs, parents and teaching professionals on the provision of educational programs, and to assist teachers in understanding students where necessary.
* Organisational skills to assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
* Knowledge and ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
* Knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
* Ability to assist with general health and well‐being of students.
