About The Role
We're looking for an experienced and driven PR Manager to lead strategic communications and brand storytelling for BYD across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to senior leadership, this role shapes public perception, builds brand equity, and drives awareness of BYD as a global leader in new energy vehicles. You will develop and execute media strategies, manage press relationships, drive thought leadership, and ensure consistent messaging across channels.
Key Responsibilities
* PR Strategies & Planning: Develop and execute integrated PR strategies aligned with business objectives and marketing plans. Create insight-driven campaigns and storytelling opportunities to elevate brand visibility and perception across ANZ.
* Media & Influencer Relations: Cultivate relationships with media, journalists, influencers, and key opinion leaders to drive positive coverage; pitch stories and secure placements across print, digital, and broadcast; oversee KOL/influencer partnerships.
* Content & Communication: Write, edit, and distribute press releases, speeches, and other materials; ensure consistent, engaging messaging across all communications channels.
* Events & Sponsorship Support: Plan and execute media events, product launches, and press conferences; coordinate media attendance and coverage.
* Brand Reputation & Crisis Management: Monitor media coverage and public sentiment; develop crisis plans and act as spokesperson when required; address reputational risks quickly and effectively.
* Stakeholder & Agency Management: Manage external PR agency and collaborate with internal stakeholders for alignment in PR communications.
* Performance Reporting & Budgeting: Measure PR effectiveness, report on performance and insights, and manage the PR budget for ROI.
* Media Training: Prepare executives for interviews and media appearances; provide coaching for confident, consistent communication.

Experience & Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business; experience in automotive industry highly desired.
* 7+ years of experience in brand management, marketing, or automotive product marketing.
* Strong understanding of premium/luxury positioning, emerging EV trends, and customer behavior.
* Proven success managing integrated marketing campaigns and working with creative/media agencies.
* Excellent project management, storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with high ambiguity.
