What's the role?
As the Principal Technical Lead for Workload Automation, you will be responsible for providing expert technical leadership to advance Westpac's Enterprise Batch (Workload Automation) Services, covering design, build, and operations. You will lead the technical implementation of the Batch strategic roadmap.
This role requires extensive experience in managing Workload Automation tools in a large corporate organization, with proven hands-on capability in providing BAU Admin support, troubleshooting complex issues, and installing, upgrading, patching, and configuring Batch tools.
Principal level experience with Control-M is essential, along with senior experience in ESP Workload Automation and TWS/IWS.
The key responsibilities include:
* Design, build, and implement technical solutions for Control-M, ESP, and TWS/IWS, aligning with the Batch strategic roadmap.
* Provide expert support during major incidents affecting batch tool availability.
* Support upgrading, patching, and configuring batch scheduler tools.
* Manage agent upgrades, patches, and certificate renewals.
* Design, build, and implement automation for managing batch tools, agents, and certificates.
* Support and improve batch architecture in line with business needs.
* Manage batch scheduling processes and standards for batch developers.
* Collaborate with batch designers and developers to optimize batch flow solutions.
* Lead technical migration of scheduling tools to new infrastructure or convert schedules to Westpac's strategic scheduling tool.
What do I need?
* At least 10 years of extensive IT experience in a highly technical role related to Batch.
* Strong experience supporting and maintaining Control-M.
* Senior experience with ESP Workload Automation and TWS/IWS.
* Deep knowledge of Batch Operations and Scheduling.
* Ability to drive strategic initiatives for Batch.
* Experience working in mainframe and midrange hosting environments.
* Excellent analysis, troubleshooting, and consultative skills.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* A tertiary qualification in IT is highly desirable.
