Primary Purpose:
The Geospatial Operations Lead provides project management, leadership and strategic guidance in the delivery of CFS geospatial programs and projects by:
* Providing program and project management, oversight, administration and maintenance in planning and implementing corporate geospatial capabilities, applications, databases and platforms.
* Coordinating strategic development and delivery of enterprise spatial data architecture, spatial data analysis and technology solutions to support operational and business requirements.
* Leading the engagement and consultation processes with internal and external clients and stakeholders to identify operational needs and incorporate into project delivery.
* Coordinate, facilitate and promote the development of information initiatives and the exchange of spatial information and analysis across the Emergency Services Sector and other external stakeholders.
* Providing CFS executive and senior management with effective project leadership, expert technical advice and guidance on corporate geospatial capabilities.
* Providing leadership and guidance to the geospatial operations team through collaborative, inclusive management approaches that support the generation of ideas and solutions to meet operational and business needs.
* Representing the CFS geospatial capability as required at the project, program and agency level.
* Representing the CFS with public and private sector agencies and customers in the development and implementation of best practice programs, benchmarks, initiatives and services delivery standards of spatial information.
* Undertaking of an emergency support or incident management role, via a defined 'operational' on-call roster, with the potential to be re-called under emergency situations, to enable the provision of emergency service activities by CFS to the community. Whilst undertaking such operational roles, personnel will be required to work in emergency situations, which may include day, afternoon, night, or extended shifts.
Essential Qualifications:
* Evidence of a minimum of 5 years experience in GIS, geospatial or spatial science AND
* Evidence of formal training or a qualification in GIS, geospatial, spatial science or a related field.

$108,109 - $116,864
