Technical Product Specialist - Fridges & Telematics About the Role Freighter Group is seeking a technically-minded specialist to lead the introduction and integration of refrigeration and telematics systems into the Australian road transport market. Moving beyond traditional marketing, this role focuses on the \"how\" of our technology—designing kits, securing regulatory approvals, and providing expert product support for our national network. You will be the bridge between our engineering team and our customers, ensuring our \"Freight it for life\" solutions meet the highest standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities Technical Integration: Lead the integration of telematics and fridge systems into locally built trailers and design custom kits for retrofitting.
Regulatory Compliance: Manage and secure essential TCA and ACMA approvals for telematics systems.
Network Support: Train local production teams and national service partners to ensure high-level technical proficiency across the brand.
Solution Consulting: Use your technical expertise to consult with major fleets and stakeholders, identifying growth opportunities in existing and new markets.
Performance Tracking: Monitor market dynamics and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge and inform business development strategies.
What You Bring Technical Aptitude: At least 5+ years of experience within the transport equipment industry with a deep understanding of the Australian road transport landscape.
Systems Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of refrigeration units and/or telematics hardware.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to manage product strategies, budgeting, and cost control while maintaining a customer-centric approach.
Collaboration: A demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes through teamwork, working closely with sales, service, and engineering.
