About the Role

* We are seeking a dedicated legal professional to join our dynamic team in the Northern Territory.
* As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and representation on vital issues affecting land, water, and Indigenous community rights.
* You will work closely with Traditional Owners and communities to support the recognition, management, and sustainable use of their lands and waters.
* This role offers diverse, hands-on experience and the opportunity to work in a unique legal and cultural environment.
Key Responsibilities

* Provide expert advice and representation on native title claims, land rights, and other related matters.
* Collaborate with professionals from diverse disciplines, including anthropologists and land management experts.
* Negotiate agreements for mining, energy, and renewable energy activities, as well as other land uses such as pastoralism and public infrastructure.
* Provide administrative and environmental advice and strategic litigation services.
Requirements

* A current practice certificate in an Australian jurisdiction.
* At least 2 years post-admission experience in legal practice.
* Ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including Traditional Owners, government, and proponents.
* Knowledge of the Aboriginal Land Rights (NT) Act and the Native Title Act.
* C Class Drivers Licence and ability to undertake remote travel in a manual 4WD vehicle or light aircraft.
