Senior Registrar / Registrar / Principal House Officer – Persistent Pain
Townsville University Hospital are seeking a client focused Senior Registrar or Registrar or Principal House Officer – Persistent Pain as part of the North Queensland Persistent Pain Management Service.
Role Details
• Temporary full‐time role commencing August for up to 6 months (possible extension up to 12 months).
• Fixed term temporary, full time, Health – Medical, classification L10-L13, L4-L9, workplace Townsville region.
• Salary: $******* – $******* p.f. (L4-L10).
• Annual leave: 4 weeks, 17.5% loading; locality allowance, superannuation contribution, salary sacrificing options.
About the Opportunity
Provide high quality clinical care to patients of the North Queensland Persistent Pain Management Service within The Townsville Hospital and Health Service. Supervise junior medical staff including inpatient care and provide teaching to junior medical staff, medical students, and allied health staff.
Responsibilities and Key Duties
* Supervise junior medical staff and oversee inpatient care.
* Provide teaching to junior medical staff, medical students, allied health staff.
* Review, analyse and evaluate patient care to identify appropriate treatments and investigations.
* Maintain accurate and complete medical records – clinical, administrative and statistical.
* Respond promptly to emergency or urgent situations impacting patient care.
* Practice medicine in a cross‐cultural environment and build relationships with patients and multidisciplinary team.
* Participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices, including employment equity, anti‐discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Degree qualifications from a recognized tertiary institution and current registration as a medical practitioner or eligibility for current registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Accepted into a recognized vocational college training program relevant to the specialty.
* If not accepted into such a program, employment will be only as a Principal House Officer at PHO level per fortnight (L4‐L7).
* Knowledge of current medical practices and issues, with appropriate level of expertise.
* Demonstrated ability to review, analyse and evaluate patient care.
* Well‐developed communication skills (written, oral, interpersonal) with ability to communicate with all staff and patients from diverse backgrounds.
* Commitment to high standards in clinical care and ability to react promptly to emergencies.
* Ability to practice medicine in a cross‐cultural environment.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills to build relationships with multidisciplinary teams and meet patient needs and policy guidelines.
