THE ROLE The Senior Legal Counsel forms part of the executive function within the Statewide Child Protection Litigation Office (CPLO), and oversees the delivery of specialist legal services, including providing advice on Child Protection matters to the Secretary, Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and the Community Operations & Practice Leadership Division, including the Office of Professional Practice and advocacy services including appearing on behalf of the Secretary in various jurisdictions, primarily the Children's Court. The role reports to the Director, CPLO. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE * Lead strategic and operational service delivery and planning, including long term planning to improve legal services and client outcomes. * Support the Director by participating in strategic planning and contributing to strategic decision-making impacting on the operating environment. * Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic frameworks, guidelines and/or practices for Child Protection litigation for the department and the legal sector.
