About the Role
You will join our Governance team within the Legal branch in the Office of General Counsel group.
As the Associate Director, Governance, you will lead corporate governance strategy, operations and key initiatives, ensuring high‐quality advice and assurance are provided to senior executives. You will drive governance, risk and internal audit frameworks, lead complex governance projects and influence organisational outcomes across the department and the broader sector.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across government, you will provide authoritative advice, manage competing priorities and lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen governance, integrity and compliance outcomes in a fast‐paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to work at the centre of government, contributing to effective decision‐making and whole‐of‐government governance practices across NSW Government.

We're Looking For
* Strategic Governance Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading governance, risk, audit or compliance initiatives within complex organisations, with the ability to provide authoritative advice and drive governance improvement outcomes
* Stakeholder Engagement and Influence: Strong ability to build trusted relationships, influence senior stakeholders and negotiate outcomes across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
* Project and Policy Delivery: Proven experience managing complex governance projects, policy initiatives or operational programs, including planning, implementation, reporting and continuous improvement activities
* Communication and Advisory Skills: Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive briefs, reports and advice on complex or sensitive issues for senior decision-makers
* Leadership and Team Capability: Demonstrated ability to lead, support and develop teams and capability through influence, coaching and collaboration, while fostering a high‐performing, customer‐focused and inclusive work environment
