Job Description
FIELD & SHED WORK – Eubenangee, Far North Queensland 4 positions available as farm hands with immediate commencement. Applicants must be able to commit to a contract of up to 4 years (applicants looking for short term work need not apply).
We are offering full-time employment paid under the Horticulture Award [MA000028]. You will be offered full-time hours with additional hours as required depending on the season and availability of work. You may be required to be available for work 6 days a week as necessary.
Work hours are generally from 6.30 am to 4.00 pm (Monday – Friday) however workdays & hours will vary according to fruit availability and you may be required to work weekends during peak seasons. Positions will require you to assist in the everyday tasks carried out on a banana farm & may include but are not limited to: - Picking bananas & any other associated jobs required in the field eg.
De-leafing, stringing, de-suckering, bagging etc. - Packing bananas & any other associated jobs required in the shed eg. Hanging, de-handing, clustering, sorting, stacking etc.
- General maintenance & cleaning of farm & packing shed equipment as required All positions are physically demanding, and applicants must be fit, strong, reliable & enthusiastic to do the work. You must be able to handle harsh weather conditions.
At times, you will be required to work in very hot, humid and wet conditions. Applicants must have the ability to maintain good speed for manual tasks, follow instruction well and have a keen eye for attention to detail. No experience is necessary however previous experience would be advantageous.
