About Centrecare

Centrecare is a not-for-profit organisation with over 300 employees and is committed to delivering quality professional counselling, support, accommodation, mediation and training services in over 11 locations across the Perth Metro, Goldfields and Bunbury region.


The Service

The Footprints to Stronger Families is an Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS) programme that provides intensive family support, early intervention and community-based support for at‑risk Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, and their families. It enhances pathways to education and employment, and reduces substance abuse, violence and contact with the criminal justice system.


The Role

Work with individuals and their families to improve outcomes, support access to relevant services, advocate and provide referral pathways. Provide education to groups and plan and engage in community events including NAIDOC, Aboriginal Children's Day, White Ribbon Day, Mental Health Week and Carers Week. Commit to strengthening the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.


A Few Specifics

* Complete intake and assessment of families and children to identify needs.
* Develop support plans with the client that identify individual goals.
* Provide practical supports and referrals to appropriate services.
* Assist with the development of family camps, women's groups and youth groups.
* Plan and participate in community events.
* Assist in writing six monthly reports as directed by the Program Manager.


About You

* Aboriginality is a genuine role requirement (50D position).
* Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services, Aboriginal Studies, Mental Health or equivalent.
* Experience and knowledge working with Aboriginal individuals, families and communities.
* Experience in administration and case‑management.
* Experience living and working in a remote or regional community.
* Exhibit a client‑centred, conscientious care approach.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Working with Children Check.
* National Police Certificate.
