Job: Additive Manufacturing Operationalisation Strategy
The Additive Manufacturing Operationalisation Strategy defines Additive Manufacturing capability at three levels: Strategic, Operational, and Tactical. The Operational level comprises an intermediate capability suitable for deployment to a staging base or a large vessel.
This capability aligns substantially to the Operating Concept for Expeditionary Logistics developed by Navy Logistics Branch.
As a subject matter expert on AM technology, the Centre for Innovation proposes to foster the introduction of this capability by contracting for the development of a reference design of a containerised intermediate AM system.
This system would contain a metal AM system and all services and interfaces required to operate the system at sea or at a waterfront location.
Objective:
This line of funding is for procurement of services to design a conceptualised solution to a level of detail sufficient that the basic concept is proven.
The output can be used as a reference design, commencing the environmentalised operationalisation of a major AMOS component within the Maritime Domain.
Key Requirements:
* Develop a reference design for a containerised intermediate AM system.
* Ensure the system includes a metal AM system and necessary services and interfaces.
* Design the system for operation at sea or at a waterfront location.
Deliverables:
* A reference design for the containerised intermediate AM system.
* A detailed design specification for the system.
Skills Required:
* 3D printing expertise.
* BASIC programming skills.
* Familiarity with funding interfaces.
* Print manufacturing experience.
* Procurement knowledge.
* Construction management skills.
* Strategy development expertise.
* Design capabilities.
