Job Description Kooinda are looking for an experienced, motivated, and passionate early childhood teacher to lead our team. We need a mentor, who thrives on continuous improvement, innovative pedagogy and reflective practice.
The Role This is a permanent, full time position working 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday.
In return you will receive a generous director's allowance and accrue a paid monthly rostered day off each and every month.

The Service Kooinda Workbase Child Care Centre is a welcoming, purpose-built 56-place long day care nestled in the leafy bushland of the University of Newcastle campus. Meaning “a happy place” in Awabakal, Kooinda fosters community, nature connection, and a passionate team, many with KU experience spanning 5 to 20 years.
Children explore a large yard with cubbies, climbing frames, and mud kitchens, enjoying outdoor adventures and sustainability‑focused activities using natural, upcycled materials.

Of course, you will need:
Australian working rights
A current NSW Working with Children Check
An ACECQA recognised Early Childhood Teaching degree
Completed Child Protection Training as well as demonstrated understanding of current child safe practices
Current First Aid and CPR certificates along with current separate approved Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management certificates
NESA Teacher AccreditationSound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011)
Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)
