Our client, a federal government agency is seeking a Senior Lead Developer to play a pivotal role in advancing their digital platforms. This role demands a seasoned professional to lead the unification of multiple systems into a single, integrated portal, enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring secure, seamless user access across various domains.
As Senior Lead Developer, you will work in a hybrid setting primarily based in the ACT, contributing hands‐on engineering expertise across a broad technology stack including legacy systems (Delphi, Visual Basic, ASP) and modern frameworks (C#, ASPX, SQL, JScript, Dynamics 365).
Responsibilities
* Leading complex coding and maintenance tasks, extracting and modernising business logic from legacy systems.
* Defining and documenting the technical architecture to ensure durable, scalable integration between custom applications, databases, and ERP/CRM platforms.
* Managing technical project aspects by aligning delivery timelines with architectural goals and mitigating risks through agile practices.
* Mentoring your team to uphold coding standards, documentation quality, and database design during substantial system migrations and enhancements.
The ideal candidate will bring around 20 years of progressive IT experience spanning legacy client‐server technologies through to contemporary cloud‐based ERP and CRM systems, with a strong capacity to engage diverse stakeholders and distil complex challenges into clear technical strategies.
Required Qualifications & Skills
* Proven hands‐on proficiency with a wide array of programming languages and technology layers.
* Experience in driving enterprise projects involving architectural documentation, cyber security compliance, and whole‐of‐government standards.
* Strong project management skills rooted in agile methodologies, risk assessment, and benefits realisation.
* A Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline highly preferred.
* Ability to collaborate with cross‐functional teams including developers, testers, designers, and executives effectively.
* Eligibility to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
