Freedom of Information Officer
Location: Adelaide, SA | Anticipated Contract: 3 months | Start: ASAP | Pay: $62 /hour + Super
Contribute to transparency and good governance in a dynamic, highly regulated organisation.
We are seeking a skilled Freedom of Information (FOI) Officer to lead and deliver FOI processes within a key governance and legal team.
This short-term contract role is critical in ensuring the organisation meets its statutory obligations, providing timely, accurate, and compliant responses to requests.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and determine FOI requests, liaising with internal stakeholders and external parties to ensure statutory compliance.
Conduct third-party consultations and coordinate internal and external review processes.
Develop and implement FOI systems, policies, and processes to enhance compliance and awareness.
Provide high-level advice to staff and senior management on FOI obligations.
Support the governance team and contribute effectively to team goals.
Maintain a safe and supportive work environment in line with workplace policies.
About You
Accredited FOI Officer (or willing to undertake training) – essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to review complex information and apply policies and legislation with discernment.
Diplomatic, assertive, and capable of interacting with senior personnel, stakeholders, and the public.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
Tertiary qualifications in law, public policy, business, or related discipline are desirable.
Role Details
Flexible work hours with occasional after-hours requirements.
Some intra- and interstate travel may be required.
Work closely with senior leadership, internal teams, and external regulatory bodies.

Casual Loading
Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading.
This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
