Project Overview
The Snowy 2.0 project is a large-scale pumped hydro scheme located in the Snowy Mountains of NSW, Australia. This iconic project will deliver one of the largest renewable energy projects in the world and provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for future generations.
As a Project Engineer with our organization, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of packages of stage 2 excavation, ground support, and FRP works while coordinating with the wider project team. You will also oversee the development and implementation of construction methods onsite in consultation with senior engineers and construction superintendents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing construction methodologies, programs, and SWMS for given packages
* Leading the delivery of packages of stage 2 excavation, ground support, and FRP works
* Overseeing the development and implementation of construction methods onsite
* Daily, weekly, and monthly productivity and cost monitoring and reporting
* Procuring permanent materials and subcontractors
* Ensuring site engineers and subordinates are clear on their responsibilities and providing regular feedback to ensure effective performance
* Managing short and medium-term construction planning for the works
* Coordinating and administering construction engineering activities to ensure safe delivery in accordance with time, budget, and quality requirements
* Preparing schedules, coordinating, and monitoring assigned engineering projects
* Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications
* Interacting daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirements
* Reviewing engineering deliverables and initiating corrective actions
* Preparing variations, including taking off quantities and pricing
* Coordinating and ensuring compliance with design, safety, quality, community, and environmental related deliverables and documentation
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in civil or mining engineering
* White Card
* Driver's License
* Minimum 5 years' experience working in the Civil Construction industry on large-scale construction projects or other suitable projects works
* Advanced MS Office skills
* Competence in interpreting and explaining technical schedules and documentation
* Good contract comprehension
* Demonstrated experience in planning and reporting against cost and time
* Strong understanding of program management, deadlines, and budget controls
* High-level verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to work successfully and autonomously within a fast-paced project environment and deliver on deadlines
* Strong attitude and awareness of safety and focus on a zero-harm environment
* Proven experience in successfully delivering large work packages with Tier 1 construction contractors
