About us:
The Education and Research Unit provides Nursing and Midwifery education, professional practice development services and Clinical Practice Improvement initiatives for nursing and midwifery staff, to facilitate the achievement of best practice health service delivery requirements. The Education and Research Unit is led by the Nursing Director of Education and Research.
The Nurse Educators, Midwifery Educators, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Clinical Placement Coordinator, Clinical Facilitators, Student Facilitators, Librarians the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner service report to the Nursing Director of Education and Research. Nurse Educators in Gladstone, Emerald, Aged Care and Mental Health have professional links with the Education and Research Unit.
About the role:
Resources have been allocated to healthcare services to enhance the existing Hospital in the Home (HITH) service to include a Geriatric Evaluation Management service in the home. This will be achieved by implementing geriatrician-led multidisciplinary model of care, delivered at a patient's permanent or temporary residence as a substitute for hospital admission. The model aims to improve health outcomes, avoid unnecessary hospitalisations, and reduce the length of hospital stays.
The Nurse Educator, a Registered Nurse Grade 7, is accountable at an advanced practice level for the design, implementation, and assessment of nursing education programs. This role includes managing educational resources and providing nursing expertise related to educational issues within CQ Health.
About you:
A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate.
A relevant postgraduate qualification at an AQF level 9 in which clinical education was a large component or a research higher degree is a requirement of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion of the required post-graduate study within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance review process.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $6,842 p.m. is comprised of:
An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
