Principal lead analyst

The purpose of the AO7 Principal Lead Analyst is to lead, direct and manage a team of technical staff undertaking development and maintenance activities associated with large complex computing systems. You will promote best practice within the department's software development methodology by actively reviewing technical documentation, including standards, system design and coding; and coaching other technical staff in effective system development techniques and technical problem solving. - Influence senior management, stakeholders, and technical staff by offering strategic design guidance and innovative solutions within the Registration and Licensing Systems (RnLS) domain.- Engage in end-to-end product release processes, from planning through to implementation readiness, encompassing management, testing, monitoring and reporting.- Lead projects by providing design and technical direction, overseeing the development and maintenance of complex systems.- Oversee technical service delivery team's workload, ensuring proper resource allocation, priority management, and adherence to delivery milestones.- Drive the optimisation of information architecture and application development, deliver technical insights for strategic decisions, promote best practices and mentor RnLS staff. To be considered suitable for the role you will have:- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Queensland Government's complex Registration and Licensing Systems methodologies including Agile or Waterfall, programming languages, database management, system architecture and an understanding of the Registration and Licensing Systems environment. Ability to review and critique system design and coding to ensure compliance with best practices.- Leadership: The ability to lead and manage a team of technical staff, including setting objectives, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and mentoring team members. Inspiring the team to achieve high standards and fostering a positive work environment is also crucial.- Strategic Planning: Capability to develop strategic plans and provide direction for system design and solutions. This involves understanding the big picture, long-term vision and being able to align technical strategies with the overall goals of the department.- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to negotiate with and influence senior management and stakeholders. The ability to communicate complex technical issues in an understandable manner is essential.- While not mandatory, A degree in information technology or equivalent would be beneficial.
