About the Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will lead the systems‐level design, integration, and verification of complex rocket motor and propulsion programs.
You'll work across multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical excellence, safety, and performance across mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead the design, analysis, and integration of solid rocket motor systems and subsystems.
* Define and manage requirements, interfaces, and verification plans.
* Conduct system‐level modelling, analysis, and trade studies.
* Support test planning, data analysis, and performance validation.
* Lead design reviews and maintain configuration and documentation control.
* Collaborate with mechanical, chemical, and electrical engineers to ensure cohesive design outcomes.
* Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers.
* Represent the engineering function in program and customer forums.
About You
You are an experienced and detail‐oriented systems engineer who thrives in a hands‐on environment. You can balance analytical rigour with practical design implementation and enjoy solving technical challenges in advanced defence technology projects.
Essential:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering.
* Strong experience in systems engineering, ideally in defence, aerospace, or complex manufacturing.
* Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle and configuration control.
* Skilled in modelling, requirements management, and verification processes.
* Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
* Eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
Desirable:
* Experience in propulsion or ordnance systems design.
* Knowledge of ASDEFCON, MIL‐STD, or Defence standards.
* Exposure to system modelling tools and simulation software.
