About the Opportunity The Digital Production Technicians use various digitising equipment to produce high-quality digital copies of a wide range of collection items, for both internal and external stakeholders. The Digital Production Technicians support the implementation of policies and procedures that promote adherence to international standards and guidelines for digitising and handling of collection material in a cultural heritage institution. This includes ensuring efficient digital image capture to standards, quality assurance of metadata for digital files and ensuring quality of the digital file and related metadata in preparation for ingest into the Library's digital object management and preservation system, Rosetta. The Digital Production Technicians are accountable for the following measurable outcomes: Producing high-quality digital images for the Library's Direct Delivery and Interlibrary Loan services whilst meeting services capture standards and delivery timeframes. Delivering an excellent digital image production service for both internal and external stakeholders. Producing high-quality digital images for the Library's digital object management and preservation system (Rosetta) whilst ensuring best practice digitising capture standards are being met. Ensuring images undergo established quality assurance processes in preparation for ingest into the Library's digital object management and preservation system, Rosetta. About You The successful candidate brings professional expertise in digitisation, management and preservation of digital objects and an understanding of the importance of best practice and adhering to ISO standards and international guidelines. In addition, you will come to us with: Tertiary degree or post-graduate diploma in photography or equivalent experience in digitising cultural heritage collection material. Demonstrated experience with digitising equipment and image editing software, preferably within a library or cultural heritage setting. Experience in working with image quality assurance processes and adhering to best practice digitising capture standards. A solid track record of establishing and maintaining successful collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Experience in working with digitising software, such as CaptureOne and various scanning software. State Library Victoria is a child-safe organisation.
