About The Role
The Works Manager/Estimator is responsible ensuring that Just the Man's building and construction work is structurally sound and appropriate for purpose. This role includes estimating and scheduling of jobs, carrying out regular on-site inspections to ensure work is in accordance with scope, QBCC requirements, WHS, Australian Standards and Just The Man service expectations. You will work with eight - ten experienced tradies to deliver ongoing maintenance works.
You are ably supported in these responsibilities by your colleagues and our dedicated admin team. You also won't be scared to jump on the tools occasionally to teach skills and uplift the team.
Responsibilities
* Scoping, costing and proposals for future works
* Creating and managing production schedules, material ordering, equipment supplies and site access for all jobs.
* Quality Assurance on all works
* Technical support and mentoring for the trade team
* Client site visits for estimating, project starts, progress reporting and quality assurance.
Requirements:
* Trade Qualification essential
* Carpentry trade qualification is required for this position
* QBCC Builder Low Rise Licence highly regarded
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Strong computer skills including previous experience with Estimating and Project Management software, with the ability to use MS Office and app based software as a minimum.
* Minimum 1-2 years experience using estimating and project management software is required
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to ensure the highest quality of finishes both in paperwork and from your trade team
* Minimum 5 years recent experience working in the construction field in a similar or related position.
* Prior experience scoping, estimating and activiating projects; with a broad understanding of estimating principles, margins, pricing and job profit and loss analysis is essential.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment and in the field
* Be physically fit with unrestricted ability attend job sites when required.
* Must have current manual driver's license
* Australian permanent resident or citizen status is required for this role
