About the Opportunity
As our Talent Acquisition Specialist (Fixed Term 12-month contract), you'll be the driving force behind Mapei Australia's recruitment strategy across our offices, production plants, and warehouses nationwide.
Reporting to the HR Manager AU, this role will work closely with business leaders and the HR Team to deliver proactive, inclusive, and high-quality recruitment outcomes.
You'll manage end-to-end recruitment processes that support our growing Mapei team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, team dynamics, and ideal candidate profiles for open positions
Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies utilising various sourcing channels including job boards, social media, professional networks, industry-specific associations (construction, building, chemical engineering societies), and employee referrals
Develop specialised recruitment approaches for sales professionals, including sourcing candidates with construction industry experience, B2B sales background, and technical aptitude
Manage the end-to-end recruitment process including job postings, candidate communications, interview coordination, reference checks, and offer negotiations
Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill positions to reduce time-to-hire
Ensure compliance with employment legislation, equal opportunity requirements, and organisational policies throughout the recruitment process
Collaborate with the HR team to ensure smooth onboarding and integration of new hires, including coordination of product training for sales staff
Maintain accurate records in the applicant tracking system and ensure data integrity
Stay current on recruitment trends, labour market conditions, construction industry employment trends, competitor hiring activities, and best practices in talent acquisition
Provide general HR administrative support including preparing employment documentation, updating employee records, and assisting with HR-related inquiries
Participate in and contribute to HR projects and initiatives such as employer branding, recruitment process improvements, and HR system implementations
About You
You are a skilled communicator, with the ability to build relationships, and understand the value in a positive candidate experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR roles in an Australian environment, preferably manufacturing or related field, mixed blue and white-collar environment, FMCG, an advantage.
Demonstrated experience recruiting for sales positions, preferably in B2B, manufacturing, construction, or technical sales environments
Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruitment processes
Proven track record of successfully filling diverse positions across multiple functions
Understanding of construction industry terminology, sales compensation structures, and territory management concepts an advantage
Knowledge of employment legislation and equal opportunity requirements
Ability to build effective relationships with client groups.
Developed planning, organising and time management skills.
Developed departmental support skills with accuracy and strong attention to detail.
