Barista Position Available for Award Winning Cafe
Opened in 2020 by award-winning barista and hospitality visionary Oliver James — the creative force behind Caffiend and Tattooed Sailor Coffee Roasters — Guyala serves as the flagship home for our in-house roasted specialty coffee. It pairs it with inventive, thoughtful food that highlights native Australian ingredients, international influences, and plenty of plant-based and gluten-free options. We're looking for a passionate barista to join our welcoming, community-focused team in this unique, fully accessible venue where exceptional coffee meets meaningful hospitality every day.
The Barista Position requires
* Previous experience as a barista with the ability to work in busy environment
* Excellent communication skills
* Knowledge of different types of coffee beans/roasts origins and brewing methods
* Flexibility in working hours including weekends, holidays
* An attitude towards constant improvement
* Uphold the terms in your employment contract
The Duties include but not limited to
* Welcome customers with warmth and friendliness, ensuring their satisfaction throughout their visit
* Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, offering recommendations based on their preferences
* Prepare various coffee beverages such as espresso, cappuccino, latte, etc., following recipes and quality standards
* Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other equipment proficiently
* Maintain cleanliness of workstations and equipment at all times to ensure hygiene standards are met
* Stay updated on different coffee beans/roasts origins and brewing techniques to provide an exceptional experience to customers
* Restocking fridges, retail shelves and general coffee and bar products
* Preparation of fruit for juices and smoothies as required
* Handle cash transactions accurately using the POS system or other payment methods
