About the role
The Quality Control Officer at SW will play a vital role in ensuring that food safety and quality compliance is maintained in accordance with both Company and industry standards. This role also carries responsibility for the technical compliance of SW and private label packaged goods in the marketplace.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
Monitor and enforce good hygiene practices, quality and integrity inspections and checks, and pre-operational checks to maintain exceptional standards
Maintain currency and ensure compliance with Australian and international food legislation and labelling requirements, including GMP and HACCP standards.
Quality control of all operations during production.
Conduct daily food safety and quality checks during receival, processing, finished products, storage and dispatching.
Gather finished product samples throughout production.
Ensure full traceability of finished product samples.
Data entry of quality records and results.
Management of sampling and testing in accordance with specified requirements for positive release including completing quality control micro testing on finished products, raw materials, environmental swabs
In collaboration with the production team, conduct staff training as required.
Support production staff in maintaining quality KPIs.
Engage with and foster a positive food safety and quality culture with all levels of staff.
Participate in product quality improvement and new product development activities.

Essential Criteria, Skills and Experience
Experience in a Quality role within the food or similar manufacturing industry.
Meticulous approach and attention to detail.
Ability to stay calm and work effectively under pressure.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster and support a team approach.
Preparedness to work flexible hours when required.
Knowledge of Halal and Kosher programs.

What You Should Know About Our Operations
Our business is widespread, growing walnuts, almonds and bees in the Riverina Region in New South Wales, pecans in Moree and macadamias, avocados and mangoes in Bundaberg, Queensland.
Off the paddock, we operate nut processing and packing facilities in Leeton, Toowoomba and Bundaberg as well as fruit packing and processing in Bundaberg. In addition, our shared services teams (Finance, Sales, ESG, Safety and People & Culture) are located across all of our sites as well as the Brisbane, Melbourne and Griffith offices.
