We seek candidates interested in an exciting career change to work with a global leader committed to quality and integrity.Job DescriptionJoin our dynamic team as a Casual Coal Technician, based in Unanderra, NSW, in a fast-paced and supportive workplace.Your responsibilities will include timely and quality sampling, preparation, and basic analysis of samples for internal and external clients.
You will contribute to our mission through sample preparation, analysis, and storage.You will be responsible for:Accurately conducting physical coal sampling and testing of routine samplesReceipting, recording, sorting, and storing coal samples as requiredFollowing analytical methods, procedures, SGS Quality Systems, and onsite HSE standardsMaintaining analytical and sample preparation equipmentDelivering quality samples to internal and external customersFlexibility to work day, afternoon, or night shifts on weekdays or weekendsQualificationsThe successful candidate will have:On-the-job training with 6-12 months experience in a laboratory or chemical process; ORHigher School Certificate with passes in English, Maths, and Science or equivalentRelevant higher qualifications preferredCompletion of a numeracy, writing, and comprehension test to standardPrevious experience in a prep/laboratory role is desirable but not essentialAbility to work in a team and meet tight deadlinesA valid driver's license (minimum green provisional license)Additional InformationWhy Work for SGS?
