If you are experienced in Community Mental Health and seeking a 14-week contract, this opportunity is ideal. You will work collaboratively with clients, families, carers, and partner agencies to provide comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and deliver recovery-oriented, evidence-based treatment.
You'll also participate in a duty roster that includes providing urgent assessments and interventions across various settings—including clients' homes, emergency departments, medical wards, and aged/youth services.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial and risk assessments
* Develop and implement recovery-focused care plans
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT)
* Support clients with medication management and physical health monitoring
* Engage with community services including NDIS, private clinicians, and GPs
* Contribute to tribunal reporting and discharge planning
* Participate in weekend duty rosters and emergency response
* Maintain clinical records and data reporting in accordance with policy
Location
You will be working in a vibrant regional city approximately 300km northwest of Melbourne with a population of 20,000. This close-knit community is a hub for agriculture, especially grain and sheep farming. Its proximity to natural attractions like the Grampians National Park and Little Desert National Park offers outdoor adventures and cultural experiences, including botanic gardens, an art gallery, and historical landmarks.
The area provides numerous outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and wildlife spotting, making it an ideal destination for outdoor lovers during your time off.
To be eligible, you must:
* Hold a relevant qualification and registration in one of the following:
o Registered Nurse (AHPRA)
o Occupational Therapist (AHPRA)
o Social Worker (eligible for AASW)
* Have recent experience in community and/or inpatient mental health settings
* Possess strong risk assessment and trauma-informed care skills
* Be knowledgeable about the Mental Health Act 2014 and relevant policies
* Exhibit excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
* Understand cultural diversity and inclusive practices
* Hold a current driver's license
* Must have full Australian working rights (Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, valid Working Visa, or New Zealand Citizenship)
