What you\'ll be doing
The Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) Domestic Violence Response Service aims to promote, support and facilitate the safety, empowerment, goals and recovery of people who have experienced domestic and family violence (DFV), their children and other non-offending family members. The Domestic Violence response clinician positions are responsible for the provision of comprehensive risk assessment, adaptive safety planning, and specialist short term therapeutic and case management services to clients who have experienced recent domestic violence and their children, ensuring supported referrals to appropriate legal, non-government/government services.

Qualifications and experience
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation: Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership to Australian Association of Social Workers. Evidence of extensive clinical experience with a minimum as a level 2 and a commitment to maintaining a professional skills and knowledge base.
- Demonstrated extensive clinical experience and understanding of domestic and family violence with advanced knowledge of safety planning and child protection issues using contemporary trauma-informed practice and advanced clinical skills when working with individuals and families.
- Demonstrated high level of effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences. Demonstrated ability to negotiate, advocate and interact constructively and collaboratively and in partnership with a diverse range of stakeholders throughout all organisational levels.
- Demonstrated high level understanding of the inter-related dynamics and effects of domestic violence, sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect and a commitment to integrated models for working with clients who have experienced trauma and abuse. Commitment to working within a team.
- An unrestricted NSW Driver Licence, willingness to travel for work and to be on call for the service.
This is a NSW Health Category A position which requires immunisation and screening for certain diseases.
