The Perth ENT Centre is a vibrant team who together provide support to our Ear Nose Throat surgeons.
We currently have an opportunity to onboard a Medical Secretary on a maternity leave contract, to support our doctors across our Subiaco and Karrinyup locations on a part‐time basis of approx 33 hours per week.
Our practice prides itself on a strong team focus, friendly customer service and a professional reputation. The practice secretary is expected to work closely with all staff to ensure quality service is delivered to our doctors and patients. Patients will consist of both adults and paediatrics, including complex surgical cases.
This is not an entry level position. Candidates must have current medical secretary and surgical quoting/billing experience and demonstrate a commitment to high customer service standards.
The position requires the following essential skills:
* Experience efficiently managing doctor clinics, booking appointments and billing consults.
* Proactive approach to ensure the smooth running of a very busy clinic and heavy theatre load.
* Interpret doctor instructions to provide accurate surgical estimates in a timely manner.
* Experience in all areas of surgical billing, including private billing, Eclipse and DVA.
* Managing doctor diary including reminders and recalls.
* Prepare theatre lists and liaise with hospitals and anaesthetists.
* Organise surgical packs, admission paperwork for patients and collect payments ahead of surgery.
* Demonstrate understanding of health funds and Medicare arrangements from a surgical perspective and clearly explain these to a patient.
* Very good understanding of specialist medical practice software and Microsoft Suite; Genie solutions software highly desirable.
* Exceptional customer service skills delivered to patients with compassion and empathy, both in person and via phone, email.
* Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
* Flexible, can‐do attitude and demonstrate how you would be an exceptional addition to our team.
* Able to work as part of a team.
* Very good computer skills and eager to adopt new technologies (this practice uses AI technology).
Because some of our doctors work between two locations, you may be required to travel between Subiaco and Karrinyup.
