The Role
Latrobe City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our fun, collaborative and supportive team as a Senior Statutory Planner. In this role, you will undertake a range of statutory planning responsibilities while also collaborating across the organization and contributing to strategic planning initiatives and policy development.
Reporting to the Coordinator Statutory Planning, you'll be an important part of a dynamic team delivering high-quality statutory planning services for our community. In this role, you'll help provide timely, accurate support that reflects Council's commitment to sustainable economic, social, and environmental growth. You'll join a well-resourced team with manageable file loads, giving you the space to focus on what matters most—delivering an exceptional experience for our customers.
The position also involves occasional participation in strategic planning projects to support the continual improvement of Council's planning frameworks and practices. As a valued member of the Latrobe City Council team, you will help strengthen our organisation and contribute to making the Latrobe region one of Australia's most competitive and vibrant areas.
You'll need:
* A relevant tertiary degree or lesser formal qualification with substantial relevant experience.
* Understanding of regional planning issues.
* Current Victorian Drivers Licence
* Experience in the management and assessment of a range of planning and subdivision applications.
* Experience in managing competing demands of stakeholders while ensuring the assessment of applications is undertaken in an accurate and efficient manner.
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills to engage a range of professional and community stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the community.
* A sound understanding of the Victorian Planning Policy framework and Urban Planning regulatory framework.
