This position is an integral position within the CFC team, reporting to the Livestock Manager, this vital hands- on role will be responsible for the daily management of the lairage operations.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Providing leadership across the livestock department, ensuring a safe and productive work environment
* Management and supervision of daily lairage operations, including receivals, production scheduling, feeding, planning, monitoring and managing cattle movements and drafting.
* Staff rostering
* Lead the livestock lairage team in animal welfare.
* Ensuring all regulatory and compliance requirements are met
* Provide management with reports and information as required
* Ensure all work is being undertaken in line with WHS policy and procedures
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and attributes;
* Positive, supportive attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A passion for livestock and commitment to best practice
* Knowledge of animal welfare and animal husbandry within a lairage environment.
* Sound computer literacy
* High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency to make positive change
* Self-motivated with attention to detail
* Current driver's license
