Associate / Senior Associate – Cyber, Privacy & Digital Law (Contract role: 3–6 months, Sydney). Join a global leader in cyber, privacy & digital risk advisory. This role is based in Sydney and involves responding to cyber incidents and delivering legal excellence in a fast-paced digital environment.
About the Role
You will be a responder to cyber, privacy, and digital law incidents. This role is ideal for an experienced legal professional with expertise in advising on matters related to:
* Data protection and privacy law
* Cyber and information law
* E-commerce including electronic contracting
* Bid-data analytics, artificial intelligence, biometrics, Internet of Things and cloud
* Blockchain, cryptocurrencies and NFTs
* Technology procurement and business process outsourcing
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for clients facing cyber, privacy, and digital law crises.
* Lead incident response efforts, managing legal, operational, and reputational risks.
* Oversee a team of high-performing lawyers, providing mentorship and career development.
* Navigate complex regulatory obligations, investigations, and notification requirements.
* Partner with global law firms across 180+ jurisdictions, gaining international exposure.
* Collaborate with industry-leading experts in digital forensics, IT restoration, data risk assessment, and threat actor engagement and extortion negotiations.
