The Role
TAG's Australia practice seeks a highly motivated Canberra-based Associate or Senior Associate to support clients – ranging from Fortune 100 multinationals to innovative startups – for success in established and emerging markets across the Indo-Pacific region. Our team is a diverse mix of partners, senior advisors, and talent with extensive backgrounds in government, the private sector, and the military.
Required Qualifications
* Advanced degree in a relevant field such as international relations, political science, security studies, or economics.
* Significant professional experience in Australian defense, economic, and or political issues.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Australian politics, policy, and regulatory environment and Australia's relationships in the Indo-Pacific and with the UnitedStates.
* Outstanding research, writing, and analytical skills.
* Attention to detail, motivation, and ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
* For Senior Associate, experience in client servicing, project management, and/or business development.
* Team player with positive and professional attitude, eager for professional development, and open tolerating
* Self-starter with can-do attitude and willingness to support critical client matters and internal tasks.
* Demonstrated ability to understand and integrate public policy with corporate strategy, including use of tech tools for efficiency.
* Flexibility with respect to working and communication hours, particularly when coordinating with clients and team members in Washington DC, and other TAG offices in the region.
Desired Qualifications
* Master's or professional degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
* Background in Australia's national security, defense, or defense industrial ecosystem, preferably with a focus on AUKUS implementation.
* Network of pertinent relationships in Australia.
* Experience in government relations or comparable experience.
Candidates must be eligible to work in Australia. Employees will work in an office environment with regular in-person and virtual meetings with our on-the-ground team and with clients. The role may require limited travel within Australia.
