The Role
An opportunity has become available for two Clinical Assistants (Speech Pathology) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide a defined range of treatments as prescribed by a speech pathologist and work under their general direction, providing feedback to the speech pathologist on performance in therapy
- Set up and assist with group treatment sessions under the guidance of a speech pathologist
- Contribute to quality improvement activities with increasing ownership within scope of practice under guidance of the speech pathologist
- Complete clinical and non-clinical audits
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card - Qld Health will meet the cost)
- Driver licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary
- Permanent part time and temporary full time (Up to 12 months)
- Base salary ranging from $2 355.90 - $2 476.60 per fortnight or $30.99 - $32.58 per hour

Speech pathology services for adults and children include acute care, outpatient services, rehabilitation, community rehabilitation and community-based care for adults within regional hospital, tertiary hospital, and community settings, and acute, outpatient and community-based speech pathology services for infants and children. The Gold Coast Health Speech Pathology Service has close links with Griffith University and other universities, and there are various opportunities for staff to deliver clinical specialist lectures, assist with student training and to participate in clinical research which is embedded in service delivery. Based in Southport and Robina.
