West Wimmera Health Service provides high-quality community outpatient services, disability and residential aged care, and hospital care to more than 22,000 people in the West Wimmera region.

ABOUT US

- Our rehabilitation centre has recently undergone extensive upgrades, including a new hydrotherapy pool, rehabilitation space, and strength and conditioning gym.

ABOUT THE ROLE

- Join a team of passionate professionals supporting diverse clients across our nine West Wimmera Health Service locations and regional communities.
- Adopt a client-centered approach, collaborating with clients, families, and colleagues to achieve optimal outcomes through best-practice therapy services.
- Manage a comprehensive caseload alongside our supportive multidisciplinary team.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential:

- Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
- Experience in planning, implementing, managing, and evaluating Occupational Therapy services.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, enthusiasm, and flexibility.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and speak to community groups.
- Commitment to Quality Assurance, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Occupational Health & Safety principles.
- Current Driver's License.

Desirable:

- Experience in hospital/healthcare settings.
- Understanding of issues in rural and remote service provision.
- Knowledge of the Accreditation process, especially EQUIP.
- Leadership qualities and skills.
- Understanding of Primary Health funding guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage caseloads across acute, aged care, and community settings.
- Contribute to the effective operation of the Occupational Therapy Department, including attending team meetings.
- Collaborate within the broader WWHS and Community Health Team.
- Build positive relationships with external agencies and partners for effective service delivery and community development.
