What We Are Looking For
About the Team
Reporting to the Team Lead - Paint, you will be a key member of the paint team. The paint team forms part of the greater production team which includes the Weld Shop, Prototype Shop, Assembly Teams and Armour Shop.
About The Role
The Sandblaster is responsible for ensuring that the preparatory work and sandblasting is carried out efficiently to move on the Paint shop. The Sandblaster position is essential to delivering the highest quality blasted products to the Paint team ready for spray-painting.
The paint team will operate across two shifts: day shift, running from 6:00am to 3:00pm and afternoon shift, running from 3:00pm to 11:00pm. All new employees will start on the day shift for induction, training and compliance. Once training is complete, they'll transition to the afternoon shift roster if interested.
What Qualifications You Should Have
* Previous experience in surface preparation roles – blasting / lining / bonding / pre‑paint;
* Completion of or willingness to complete abrasive blasting competency;
* Physically fit as the role will require heavy lifting, standing (for long periods), bending and crouching;
* The ability to work effectively unsupervised and in team environments;
* Proven experience working with safe practices and in quality controlled environments;
* Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
