About This Role
As a Principal House Officer within General Medicine at QEII Hospital, you will provide high‐quality acute medical care across inpatient wards, emergency services and outpatient settings. You will work closely with senior medical staff and multidisciplinary teams, playing a key role in patient assessment, clinical management, continuity of care, supporting junior clinicians and contributing to service improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver safe, evidence‐based medical care for acute inpatients and outpatients across a 24/7 service.
* Participate in on‐call, after‐hours and weekend rosters to support emergency medical services.
* Collaborate with consultants, multidisciplinary teams and external providers to ensure coordinated patient care.
* Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, teaching and interprofessional collaboration.
About You
You are a motivated and adaptable medical practitioner with strong clinical capability and a commitment to patient‐centred care. You thrive in fast‐paced environments and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
What You Will Demonstrate
* Strong clinical assessment and decision‐making skills, including management of acute and emergency presentations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with patients, families and healthcare professionals.
* Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while managing clinical and administrative responsibilities.
* Registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia and relevant hospital‐based clinical experience.

About Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital
The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services, including a 24‐hour Emergency Department. Services include surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatrics, respiratory and emergency medicine.
