The Opportunity
The family support sector in Devonport works to improve the wellbeing and safety of children, young people (0–18), and their families across the North West, West Coast & surrounding regions. As a voluntary, early‐intervention service, IFSS helps families address challenges, strengthen resilience, and build sustainable support networks. This approach reduces the likelihood of escalation into Child Safety Services and supports long‐term positive outcomes. In partnership with the Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS), Mission Australia also delivers the Prevention, Assessment, Support and Treatment (PAST) program for children and young people (17 and under) displaying Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB). SASS provides education, training, therapeutic interventions, and lead support coordination, while Mission Australia offers coordination support—linking services, developing case plans, and assisting young people to achieve their goals.
