We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic with a minimum of two years of experience to join our team on a full-time basis. Position Responsibilities and Tasks: Interpret technical drawings, specifications and job instructions to determine installation requirements and accurately set out reference points for HVAC projects. Carry out on-site preparation work including measuring, marking and preparing areas for mounting air conditioning and ventilation equipment in residential and commercial settings. Fabricate and assemble piping systems by cutting, bending, threading and fitting copper and other refrigerant lines to suit system design requirements. Install HVAC system components such as compressors, condensers, evaporator units, motors, valves, switches and associated control devices according to manufacturer and job specifications. Join and secure pipework using appropriate methods such as brazing, soldering, welding or mechanical fastening, ensuring correct alignment, pressure integrity and secure fitment. Conduct pressure testing and leak detection procedures by introducing test gases or fluids into systems and inspecting for faults or loss of pressure. Evacuate systems using vacuum pumps to remove air, moisture and contaminants prior to charging with refrigerant or other operating media. Charge, commission and test-run refrigeration and air conditioning systems, monitoring performance and making necessary adjustments to achieve optimal operation. Diagnose faults, breakdowns and performance issues in HVAC systems, then repair or replace defective parts and restore systems to safe working condition. Maintain accurate service records by documenting installation details, maintenance activities, identified faults and corrective actions taken during each job. Qualifications and skills: Relevant qualification in Airconditioning and Refrigeration or a related field. At least 2 years of work experience as an Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic or similar HVACR role. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills for air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics. Solid understanding of refrigeration cycles, thermodynamics, and HVAC principles. High attention to detail in installation, servicing, and maintenance work. Strong understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS/OHS) requirements and safe work practices. Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $76,000 - $85000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
