Join one of Perth’s most iconic venues at The University Club of Western Australia. The Club is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and professional Banquet Supervisor to join its Banquet team.

POSITION

The University Club is located on the banks of the Swan River on the heritage-listed grounds of The University of Western Australia. The Club has over 4500 members and facilities include 16 state-of-the-art private function rooms, a fine dining restaurant and casual dining café.

The Banquet Supervisor position is a full time; hands-on position reporting to the Banquet Manager and Assistant Banquet Manager and offers the opportunity to work with a team of highly skilled professionals.

This position would suit a person who has extensive experience in banqueting operations, ideally in a supervisory or team leader role and is ready to make that next step in their career. Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential for this role, as you will be responsible for supervision of a team of food and beverage attendants across multiple functions.

We’re seeking a people-focused leader who thrives in a fast-moving hospitality environment, and consistently brings calm, confidence, and care to their teams and guests.

Applicants must demonstrate:

* Exceptional people skills, with a genuine sense of empathy, strong communication abilities, and a calm, respectful demeanour when dealing with guests and staff,

* Extensive hands-on operational experience in banqueting, ideally within a 4- or 5-star hospitality environment,

* Proven experience in training, mentoring, and supervising teams, with the ability to motivate and support staff to perform at their best,

* Strong ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and lead by example,

* Highly adaptable, with the flexibility and problem-solving mindset needed to achieve results in a dynamic and ever-changing environment,

* Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and

* Holder of a current Approved Manager Card (unrestricted).
