Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) provides planning, construction, operation and maintenance of all Health Service physical facilities, engineering systems, plant and equipment to meet strategic objectives within a quality environment. IAM is staffed with professional, trade, operational, and administrative staff. Trades include electrical, fitting, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, trade assistants and apprentices.
Innisfail Hospital services include emergency department, general medical and surgical, low risk maternity (3 beds), chemotherapy (4 chairs), and renal dialysis (8 chairs). Innisfail Hospital has 49 inpatient beds and 7 emergency department treatment spaces. Beds include three high dependency unit beds and ten same day beds/bed alternatives.
The hospital serves a population of over 8000 people and is 1.5 hours' drive from Cairns. The Innisfail region is renowned for spectacular waterfalls, fishing, Mission Beach, the Family Islands, and World Heritage rainforest.

About your role:
Fulfil the responsibilities of the Trade Co-ordinator through the effective management of in-house labour and the oversight or supervision of day labour and contractors engaged to supplement workforce requirements.
Organise day to day operations, work assignments and resource allocation for QH trades and contractors.
Undertake building construction and maintenance work and carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance to comply with all applicable standards including Workplace Health & safety, Australian Standards, electricity act, regulations and code of practice.
Co-ordinate the acquisition of necessary certificates of inspection in relation to building construction and maintenance work.
