Coopers Gap Wind Farm, 250 km north‐west of Brisbane, located between Dalby and Kingaroy. With 123 GE 3X Turbines, capable of producing up to 453MW, helping reduce Australia's carbon footprint by generating enough clean energy to power over 230,000 QLD homes annually, this project plays a vital role in driving the nation's transition to sustainable energy. You'll be working at the forefront of renewable energy, maintaining and troubleshooting wind turbines at some of the most exciting and creative sites in the country.
No two days are the same; you'll be climbing turbines, solving real-world technical challenges, and helping to keep Australia's wind power turning. This is not a DIDO or FIFO role, must be based locally to the wind farm.
Responsibilities
* Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbines and site infrastructure.
* Follow GE manuals, specifications, and work instructions to perform assigned tasks and inspections.
* Conduct maintenance, fault finding, and high voltage switching operations as required.
* Participate in annual maintenance, retrofit works, major component exchanges, and fault finding.
* Use GE software tools to maintain reports and submit technical queries.
* Ensure compliance with JSA, LOTO, EHS policies, and report issues promptly.
* Make a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspections.
* Report errors, violations, incidents, or problems immediately using GE reporting systems.
* Embrace a 37.5‐hour work week, with opportunities for overtime as approved and participate in on‐call rosters for after‐hours or weekend work as directed.
Qualifications
* Qualified Electrician.
* Proficient in fault finding (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment).
* Proficient in using computer systems and tools for monitoring work and managing documentation.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
* A current unrestricted driver's license.
* Ability to complete physically demanding tasks at heights, comfortable with heights (you'll be climbing turbines).
* A commitment to the highest safety standards, high performance, continuous improvement and delivering the right solutions.
* Independent, solutions‐focused, and well‐organized in managing tasks.
* Open to travel to other sites as required.
