About the Role:
* This position plays a critical role in maintaining, reviewing, updating, and implementing City plans and documentation, including Local Emergency Management Arrangements (LEMA).
* You will deliver prevention programs to reduce emergencies and improve community safety.
* You will lead and coordinate the City's emergency response functions during incidents.
* You will build and maintain relationships with external partners, service providers, stakeholders, and the mining sector.
* You will work with the community to improve risk mitigation for fire, storm, earthquake, airport, and other emergencies.
* You will consult widely on fire management plans, emergency arrangements, recovery planning, and related plans.
* You will provide technical expertise and advice to internal and external customers.
* You will collaborate with Community Safety staff on safety and fire inspection programs.
* You will support emergency readiness and response for the City's airport.
* You will prepare operational and Council reports as required.
* You will evaluate the role of compliance with relevant legislation: Local Government Act (WA), Emergency Management Act (WA), Bush Fires Act (WA).
