Brunel has recently partnered with a global leader across life sciences, who are currently undertaking an exciting upgrade of their lab assets.Due to this upgrade the business is now looking to engage a Cost Controller on an initial 3 month contract with the potential to extend for the life of the project (24 - 36 months)
This position will be based on site at Broadmeadows working with the project team, which includes a very experienced Project Director who is eager to mentor and develop This is a great opportunity to work client side on a technical commercial construction project while gaining exposure to labs
**About this role**
- Monitoring and controlling cost activities through all phases of project lifecycle
- Supporting the implementation of project cost management programmes that provide an accurate reflection of project performance at a project and programme level
- Ensuring that cost reports are delivered on time and within the guidelines of the project controls processes and procedures
- Developing project budgets in accordance with project estimate and WBS
- Liaising with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, to maintain awareness of project activities and their impact on the project budget
- Producing updates to project cost forecasts
- Issuing project change orders / variations in accordance with engineering and construction change notifications
**About you**
- 3 years' experience as a Cost Controller / Specialist
- Relevant degree
- Exposure to brownfields projects will be considered advantageous
- Proficiency with industry standard software including Microsoft Excel and cost control programmes
