We are seeking an experienced Commercial / Procurement Officer to support project delivery across a diverse range of civil and infrastructure works throughout the state.

Purpose of the Role
To manage procurement, commercial contracts, supplier relationships and cost risks across Chief Group's projects - ensuring value-for-money outcomes, quality of goods and services, and timely supply to meet project delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and manage procurement strategies for materials, subcontractors and plant
* Solicit, assess and recommend vendor quotes, proposals and tenders
* Negotiate contracts including pricing, delivery schedules and payment terms
* Build and maintain strong supplier and subcontractor relationships
* Monitor vendor performance, delivery accuracy and quality compliance
* Collaborate with estimating and project teams to align procurement with budgets and delivery plans
* Conduct commercial risk assessments and value engineering opportunities
* Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contractual standards and governance frameworks
Required Skills, Attributes and Experience
* Procurement, commercial or supply chain experience - preferably within civil construction
* Strong commercial acumen with well-developed negotiation and financial analysis skills
* Excellent communication and relationship management ability
* Knowledge of construction materials, plant and subcontractor markets
* Experience working with procurement or ERP systems (preferred)
* Motivated and organised: able to manage multiple procurement packages concurrently
* Collaborative mindset: works closely with project managers, operations and finance teams
* Accountable: driven to ensure best outcomes for cost, quality and delivery
