CBES is seeking a Pre-Construction Project Manager with a strong background in architectural and engineering (A&E) plan review to support the successful execution of retail construction projects. This role is primarily responsible for managing the A&E plan review process and tracking construction documents through all phases of development. It also oversees the pre-planning due diligence walkthroughs for remodels, takeovers, and expansion projects, ensuring all findings are communicated to internal teams and external design partners.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of building plans, while helping to control project changes and costs.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

* Monitor the A&E drawing process, including redline reviews and bid set evaluations for new builds, remodels, expansions, takeovers, and special projects.
* Manage project schedules with a focus on consistency, accuracy, and timely delivery of construction documents.
* Provide architects with plan due dates, walkthrough schedules, and distribution timelines.
* Coordinate and lead on-site pre-construction walkthroughs with Store Development, Sales, and Operations teams.
* Document walkthrough findings, including written notes and marked-up plans, and ensure updates are reflected in final fixture plans.
* Communicate scope changes and unresolved items to relevant departments for alignment and resolution.
* Collaborate with the A&E Lead to manage the due diligence process for remodel, takeover, and expansion projects.
* Partner with the Real Estate and Architecture teams to conduct thorough site assessments of building systems and components.
* Ensure completion and distribution of Due Diligence Reports to all stakeholders.
* Track and review all incoming bulletins and addendums for active projects, verifying alignment with approved scopes of work.
* Coordinate with architects and engineers to resolve discrepancies, omissions, or errors in construction documents.
* Review fixture plan changes in the context of construction progress and A&E status before releasing updates.
* Ensure changes are implemented only at approved locations in coordination with Construction and A&E Leads.
* Attend construction pre-opening walkthroughs, document A&E-related issues, and ensure resolution prior to the next project cycle.
* Support continuous improvement by updating criteria drawing packages based on field feedback.
* Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in retail store development, architecture, or engineering.
* Strong understanding of architectural design, engineering systems, and construction methods and materials.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, building codes, contracts, and schedules.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong leadership, analytical, and presentation abilities.
* High attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to take initiative and manage multiple priorities.
