THE ROLE The PLC Shop offers school uniforms, school bags, accessories, stationery, and crested goods for current and prospective students and staff. The Casual Shop Assistant supports the running of the PLC Shop and fulfills an important ambassador role for the College, often being the first point of contact for new families. The role has a strong customer focus and has responsibility for handling the register, general sales, stock control, fulfilling online orders, and responding to queries. The Shop is open Monday to Friday, five days per week during peak periods, and three days per week during non-peak periods. Some Saturday trading occurs in peak periods. The trading hours are: 8:15am – 12pm 12:45pm – 4pm Closed: 12:00pm – 12:45pm for lunch We currently have multiple vacancies for Casual Shop Assistants to support the store during the upcoming busy season from November to February. ABOUT YOU You have experience in a similar customer service or retail position, with the ability to relate positively to people at all levels and from different cultural backgrounds. You are calm, patient, and friendly in your interactions with others. You enjoy being part of a team where everyone contributes in a proactive manner and shares a "can do" attitude. You have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and written communications, and you have the flexibility to work a range of casual shifts across Monday to Friday.
